The computer architecture & embedded system (CAES) group focuses on researches include software-hardware co-design, cloud computing, system optimization for embedded and IoT applications, aiming at solving the reliability, security and real-time issues in cloud-to-end communication. The ultimate goal of these researches is to provide solid architecture support for artificial intelligence and big data oriented applications, in order to accelerate the industrialization process of "China's smart creation".

CAES has published more than 100 academic papers in first-tier journals and conferences such as TC, TOS, TCAD, TECS, FAST, DAC, DATE, LCTES, RTSS, etc. The group members serve as reviewers for top journals and TPC member of top conferences such as DAC. Recently, we have also had impressive achievements in international system design contests. We have long-term research cooperation with University of Pittsburgh, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, the National University of Singapore, and the Nanyang Technological University, and so on.

CAES has applied for more than 40 invention patents and software copyrights, and has undertaken more than ten national, provincial and ministerial-level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Key Program, General Program, Youth Program), the National Key Research and Development Program, 863 Program, and the National Development and Reform Commission Industrialization Program.
